Best 5 Ways of Keeping in Touch With Your Customers

Your clients are like your children – you have to keep feeding them to help them grow. And by grow I don’t mean in a physical sense but in the sense of your mutual relationship. And by feeding I don’t mean cake & biscuits (though most like cake & biscuits), I mean keeping in touch. If you want your relationship to continue and thrive then you have to make regular contact.

If you don’t nurture this relationship then you run the risk of the client feeling neglected, and very likely to seek out other people to work with. So how do you stay in touch without seeming too intense? Let’s take a look at the most effective ways.

E-newsletters

Depending on how much you have to say, a weekly or monthly newsletter is a great way of keeping a line of contact open. Share blog posts, tell them about your work or the latest goings on with your business.

Social Media

Nearly everybody these days has a Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn account, or at least a combination of the three. Make sure you give a personal invite to your clients to like your stuff, so they know you are thinking of them.

Make sure you return the favour and show interest in their updates and posts. They will be thankful for your support and it will keep you on their radar.

Continually update your linked-in account to show completed tasks. Linked-in is like your online business card and is a reflection of your area of expertise.

Leave Comments on Their Blogs

Remember it’s not all about you. Leaving a thoughtful comment on their blog will show them your support. It shows you are interested in what they are doing and will spark their attention.

Create and Update Your Own Blog

This is essential to show yourself as a serious business professional in your field. Having interesting, informative things to say on a subject, will show you know what you are talking about.

Maybe alert them by email every time you add a new post, and this will keep an indirect line of contact open. If they comment then great, you know they are taking notice. If not, maybe ask for some feedback via email.
