Search Engine Optimisation
Content
If your talking to a good SEO company they will tell you that CONTENT IS KING! Remember, someone enters a search term then the search engine finds the pages that are most relevant and returns them.
Therefore if your content is relevant the Search Engine will return your page. But how do I ensure my page is relevant?
Firstly, a keyword or key phrase should be chosen – this is a term you know your customers are using to search for your product/service – next the content is written around this keyword/key phrase. Make sure you write your content in a manner that is easy to read and use the keyword/phrase when suitable, some websites fill their pages with keywords and it makes for unnatural reading, search engines are wise to this and may penalize the site for trying to fool it.
You should try to use no more than three keywords per page and keep the page focused on the chosen keyword/phrase, i.e. if you sell bicycles writing a page about bikes is good, but writing three pages, one on mountain bikes, one on road bikes and another on children’s bikes will be better, the more precise your content is to your keyword/phrase the more relevant your page is likely to be to the search term.
